Tong Yixin’s sculpture work, Rolling Eyes, was included in the Liquid Ground exhibition at Para Site. Tong traveled to Dinawan Island in Malaysia and encountered a fish locally referred to as Julung-Julung which led to a series of investigations and the creation of artworks. Julung-Julung’s pronunciation is close to Jiaolong which is an aquatic dragon in Chinese mythology, this resemblance made Tong to ruminates on the changing ecology and spiritual world of Southeast Asia.
