Xiaoze Xie's Through Fire (Books that Survived the Anti-Japanese War of Resistance at Tsinghua University, No.1) will be on view in Imagine Freedom Today, a presentation of works from Denver Art Museum's permanent collection.
The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others have made the discussion of freedom more relevant than ever. This presentation is in connection with museum's upcoming exhibition Norman Rockwell Imagining Freedom, which shines a light on the four freedoms as core American values in the context of the 1940s to 1960s: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear.
